Constant vigilance is required of Executives in today’s day and age to protect business assets of IP, money, and manage network security.  Join us for the “Protect IT’ event, which we will review and explore various methods to protect against piracy, breach of confidentially and cyber-attacks, through the use of technology, insurance and legal protection. The presentation will feature (3) panelists:

Don Lander, Project Manager with OCD Tech, an IT Audit/Security organization.  Prior to joining the OCD Tech, Don was an IT Implement manager for a number of major financial services corporations in the Boston and Providence area for the past 25 years. He possesses significant expertise in project management, and SOX and SOC1 Direct Database Access Recertification. Don is a part-time Management Information Systems Lecturer (Graduate and Undergraduate) at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. He earned an MBA from the Sawyer School of Management of Suffolk University, and a BSc in Finance from UMass, Dartmouth.

Aaron Lavespere, an experienced business consultant at Connell & Curley Insurance Agency helping clients understand the underlying principles that drive risk within small to mid-sized technology and entrepreneurial companies. An entrepreneur himself, Aaron launched www.techinsuranceguide.com. His experience, along his hunger for a deeper understanding of the challenges facing businesses, help him focus on solutions that demystify the underlying issues and position the company to focus on their growth strategy. Aaron speaks and writes regularly on the subjects of networking, cyber protection, and professional liability coverages. 
 
Rich Sampson is a shareholder at the Boston law firm of Davis, Malm & D’Agostine, P.C., practicing in the intellectual property area. He assists clients in obtaining, maintaining, and enforcing patents, trademarks, and copyrights throughout the world. Rich has a broad-based technological background and counsels local and international entrepreneurs, startups, established companies, and university clients in a wide range of technologies and industries. His patent practice includes providing strategic counseling to clients focused on building portfolios and guiding them through the complex patent process. Rich has published articles and is a sought after legal resource on topics related to intellectual property. He holds the distinction of being Peer Review AV® Preeminent™ rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  Rich earned a J.D. from Western New England University, a Masters in Electrical/Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.
 
The discussion will be moderated by Larry Casey. Larry is a shareholder at the Boston law firm of Davis, Malm & D’Agostine, P.C., practicing in the business, employment and litigation areas.
