Mr. Walker and Ms. Yao will present how business can understand the legal perspective of social media reviews. Topics discussed will include the way the law allows one to promote a business with incentivized positive reviews, how to use the law to protect against negative reviews, and what to do when one receives an unjust, terrible review.

Mr. Walker is a director in the firm’s Litigation Department.  He focuses his practice on business litigation, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property and construction litigation.  Hr is a trial lawyer and has represented both large and small companies in the New Hampshire Superior Court, the New Hampshire Supreme Court, the Federal District Courts and in arbitration proceedings.  He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and chairs the firm’s Hiring Committee. He received his J.D. from William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law (1996) and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Notre Dame (1990)

 

Ms. Yao received her J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center), where she also completed the Intellectual Property Certificate (2015).  Her practical experiences throughout law school spanned a range of intellectual property areas, including patent prosecution and litigation, trademarks, copyrights, and Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission. She received her B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2010).
